What we collect, why, and what we do with it.
Last updated: June 5, 2026
This is the plain-language version of what our website actually collects and does with that information. The shorter version: we collect what you give us when you ask for an estimate, we use it to call you back about your estimate, and we don’t sell it to anyone.
This privacy policy applies to Charles Brown Paving & Excavating, a California licensed paving and excavation contractor based at 4333 Caballo Way, Chico, CA 95973. You can reach us at (530) 896-1727 or [email protected].
There are two ways we collect information through this website:
When you submit our contact form, you give us:
We collect this so we can call or email you back about your project, write you an estimate, and (if you hire us) coordinate the work.
Our web server keeps standard access logs — the same kind that every website server keeps. These include:
This information is used for security (catching spam form submissions, identifying attacks) and for understanding which pages of our website are useful.
We use the information you give us through the contact form for these purposes only:
We do not use your information to send unsolicited marketing emails. We don’t have a marketing email list. If you call us, we’ll call you back. That’s the relationship.
We don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The only third parties that handle your data are the services that physically run our website and email:
If we ever need to share information with anyone else — for example, to comply with a court order or law enforcement request — we’ll only do so to the extent legally required.
This website does not set first-party cookies for tracking or advertising. We don’t use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tracking tools.
[Note for legal review — If a website analytics tool or third-party widget is added later, update this section.]
We keep contact-form submissions and email correspondence as long as we’re in active conversation with you, plus a reasonable period afterward (typically up to seven years) to handle warranty questions, returning customers, and tax record-keeping. After that we delete them.
Web server access logs are typically rotated and deleted after 90 days.
If you’re a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information — including the right to know what we’ve collected about you, the right to request deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
If you’d like to exercise any of these rights, or simply ask us to delete the information you’ve given us, contact us at [email protected] or (530) 896-1727. We’ll process your request within the timeframe required by law (currently 45 days for CCPA requests).
This website is not directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we’ve accidentally collected information from a minor, please let us know and we’ll delete it.
If we change this policy, we’ll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for at least 30 days after the change.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your information:
[Note for legal review — this policy should be reviewed by an attorney before go-live, particularly the CCPA sections and the data retention schedule. Replace this note when reviewed.]
